Quality - Safety Manager #2844 – Cranberry, Mars

SUMMARY: 

Develop, implement, manage and maintain effective Quality and Safety policies and procedures that meet the criteria for ISO compliance as well as Corporate and government safety requirements.  Will also develop, implement and manage training program as well as other process improvement initiatives to achieve corporate quality objectives.

DUTIES: 

 Directs and controls all aspects of the Maintenance Quality Control, Ground Safety and Environmental Programs.

 Work collaboratively with Corporate Quality to develop, implement, and sustain a behavioral quality based program.

Serve as a quality liaison with Corporate Quality and ensure consistent practices and deliverables meet quality standards.

Provide oversight of Environmental, Safety & Health Programs and integrate them into the Quality Management System.

Develop, maintain, and analyze program(s) metrics. Develop and collect report performance metrics.

Seek, share, and assist in institutionalizing best practices.

Develops and implements program specific process improvement initiatives.

Establishes and tracks progress toward meeting the goals and objectives of process  improvement initiatives.

Responsible for the timely and continuous training and certification of all Quality Control inspectors.

 Assesses the effectiveness of the maintenance process and determines if Quality Control maintenance evaluations are achieving intended results, samples are adequate to predict, and/or focus needs to be redirected.

Acts as the Central point of contact for Quality Control and Safety programs.

Ensures operational personnel comply with established and applicable policies and procedures.


Skills:   

 Extensive knowledge of planning, quality control and supervisory policies, principles, procedures and techniques

Familiarity with the development and operation of management reporting systems

Demonstrated experience with process improvement approaches and change management

 

EDUCATION:

Minimum of two (2) years of college. Proven experience as safety manager. Valid qualification in occupational health and safety.
