Project Cost Accountant -  # 2850       Long Term Contract : Birmingham, Al

Position Summary: Perform duties and responsibilities as defined below as lead Project Cost Accountant on one or more small to medium projects or as support Project Cost Accountant on large/complex project(s). Ensure that project cost components are in control.


Duties:

 

Attend and participate in kickoff meetings 

Maintain phase codes and budgets

Validate timesheet transaction coding - daily

Create Purchase Orders in Viewpoint system as required - as needed

Create Subcontracts in Viewpoint system as required - as needed

Facilitate entry and management of Change Orders in Viewpoint system - as needed

Assist in verification and approval of project invoices - as generated

Monitor and correct data anomalies that can adversely impact project performance projections, daily

Facilitate entry of progress quantities weekly, each Friday

Facilitate entry of cost and revenue projections each week.

Timely preparation and submission of client billings per contract.

Assist in monitoring and collection of outstanding payments as needed 

Generate reporting as may be required by Project Manager as needed

Assist Project Manager in preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reporting - monthly

Perform project cost research as required by Project Manager as needed

Ensure that project cost documents are complete and organized daily

Assist in preparation of project closeout documentation

Attend and participate in project closeout

Mentor peers and other secondary duties as may be assigned by office and field management

 

Qualifications:


 

Strong analytical skills.

 

 

Strong organizational skills.

 

 

Basic to intermediate understanding of project performance methodologies.

 

Basic to intermediate understanding of industrial contracting terminology and practices

 

Basic to intermediate to advance understanding and timely and accurately facilitate required transactions with Viewpoint

 

Construction software. 


Basic to Intermediate level proficiency with Excel Spreadsheet software.


Ability to communicate effectively.


Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Ability to effectively manage stressful situations.

 

Other:

 Overnight and extended travel required
